Saginaw Transit Authority Regional Services, Bus and Bus Facilities Project

Why is this a good use of taxpayers' dollars:

Funding is for the vehicle replacement program for 47 out of 58 revenue vehicles, which have surpassed their FTA useful lives of 7-10 years.  Funds will also be used for renovation of STARS’ aging Rosa Parks Operations Center; the purchase of automated fare boxes for STARS’ revenue vehicle fleet of buses; and equipment replacement program including vehicle wash system and garage exhaust extraction system.
