Saginaw Valley Naval Ship Museum

Why is this a good use of taxpayers' dollars:

The Saginaw Valley Naval Ship Museum seeks to build a Naval Ship Visitor Center when the USS Edson is located in Bay City, Michigan.  The site is located at the south end of Saginaw Bay on Lake Huron.  The ship is berthed at the recently refurbished pier along the Saginaw River at Bangor Township’s Independence Park.
