Partners in Transition Program for At-Risk Young Women

Why is this a good use of taxpayers' dollars:

This meritorious program will assist and support young women as they age out of foster care services and transition into independent adulthood.  Research shows that young women are most vulnerable during the 18 months after exiting foster care and at-risk for dropping out of school, engaging in prostitution, and being victimized by domestic violence and sexual assault.  The YWCA will provide a solid support system comprised of both adult mentoring and peer-to-peer support.
