Bay City Police Department

Why is this a good use of taxpayers' dollars:

The Bay City Police Department currently shares a building with the Bay County Sheriff’s Department, which is not suited for their evidence storage needs.  Funds would be used to construct a new storage facility in a centralized location for evidence and property intake, processing, retrieval, and long term storage.

Why is this a good use of taxpayers' dollars:

Funds will be used for the replacement of seven transit coaches used in public transit service and communications equipment such as a base radio, tower lease, and mobile radios.

Birch Run Economic Development Study

The Village of Birch Run is requesting funding to complete an economic development planning study for an industrial park.

Caro Transit Authority

Why is this a good use of taxpayers' dollars:

Funding would be used to replace two mini vans currently in the bus fleet.  One will be a conversion van with a lift or ramp.  Two mobile radio systems will also be purchased to equip the new vans.  The Caro Transit Authority serves all of Tuscola County, Michigan.

Crim Fitness Foundation Facility Renovation

Why is this a good use of taxpayers' dollars:

The Crim Fitness Foundation aims to serve as a national model for excellence in community programming to promote active lifestyles and well-being. Funds will be used for the renovation, build out, and equipping of a new education and training facility.  The new Crim facility will be designed to support an active living streetscape while contributing to the revitalization of Flint.

Why is this a good use of taxpayers' dollars:

The Mass Transportation Authority is introducing hybrid technology into its fleet, through conversion of existing vehicles where appropriate, and purchase of new vehicles.  The MTA has formed a partnership with faculty members from Kettering University and Michigan State University to develop an advanced hybrid power train for transit buses.  They are prepared to begin production of the advanced hybrid system and to modify up to fifty New Flyer buses in the MTA’s fleet. 

Johnson Street Reconstruction, Bay City, MI

Why is this a good use of taxpayers' dollars:

Funds will be used for the reconstruction of Johnson Street from Center Avenue to Columbus Avenue.

Kearsley Streetscape Improvement Project

Why is this a good use of taxpayers' dollars:

The Kearsley Streetscape Improvement Project is located in Flint, Michigan and involves the construction of a redesigned segment of the Kearsley Street Corridor (from Crapo Street to Walnut Street) that serves as the main access to the Flint Cultural Center.  The project includes improvements to lighting, traffic flow, pedestrian access and aesthetics.

Kettering Gateway

Why is this a good use of taxpayers' dollars:

The City of Flint, Department of Transportation, is ready to proceed with a road improvement project within the city limits of Flint, Michigan and referred to as the Kettering Gateway Project. The project area begins at Hammerberg Road at I-69 to Miller Road (M-21) to Chevrolet and University Avenues within the project limits of Flint, Genesee County, Michigan.

Lincoln Street Reconstruction, Bay City, MI

Why is this a good use of taxpayers' dollars:

Funds will be used in the reconstruction of Lincoln Street from 22nd Street to Freemont Street.
Funds will be used to make much needed improvments on Lincoln Street from 22nd Street to Freemont Street
